Press Conference on the HIV/AIDS situation in 2015

The Department of Health released figures on the HIV/AIDS situation in Hong Kong on 23 Feb. 725 new HIV infections were identified, the highest number since records began in 1984.

On the same afternoon, AIDS Concern held a press conference to release our testing data and urge those at risk to get tested.

Apart from the testing service at our Jordan Health Service Centre, AIDS Concern also provides mobile HIV and syphilis antibody rapid tests in the New Territories in January 2016.

We have collaborated with the School of Design of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University to release a video (Chinese only) to convey the message that HIV should not hinder love.

We had a Testing Week from World AIDS Day on 1 Dec to 7 Dec. 262 people were tested for HIV at our Jordan Health Service Centre and mobile sites, twice as many as usual. 60% of those tested were tested for the first time.
